*FACTS FROM THE ROAD
12.02.1978 - after the successful gig at Essen Grugahalle, Bob Young was called at 6.30 the following morning by the german Police to sort out the "small problem" of one of Quo's articulated trucks which had mysteriously rolled down the hill, across the road and written off two lovely german cars! Before that, the hotel manager presented Bob a bill for 4.000,- DM. Somebody who looked exactly like Quo's drummer John Coghlan destroyed a red leather sofa in the hotel reception late at night. Another relaxing moment of the "Mad Turk"...
14.02.1978 - the famous german film director Michael Verhoeven did a TV movie called "Verführungen" (Seductions) which was partly shoot during Quo's Berlin concert at the Deutschlandhalle, West-Germany on their "Rockin'all over the World Germany Tour". The film debuted in early 1979 and was broadcasted by german TV broadcaster ARD.
18.07.1978 - the longest tour of Australia, to promote the "Rockin' all over the World" album, kicked off at Newcastle Civic Theatre. The gig was unofficially recorded and released as a double-album vinyl bootleg, entitled "First Night Stand". Despite the poor quality of the recording, copies can command up to 250,- Euro.
26.08.1978 - Quo's second appearance at the Reading Festival gave UK fans their only chance to see Quo on home soil during 1978. The band were spending a tax year in various foreign locations (Francis in Ireland, Rick in Germany and USA, Alan in Australia and John on the Isle of Man).
